The Southern Railway GP30 #2601: built in 1963, is currently owned and maintained by the Northern Carolina Transportation History Corporation (NCTHC). The GP30 was donated in 1992 by Norfolk Southern Corporation. It was seen making a southbound frieght run across the Lawson's Fork Creek viaduct in May 1990 and today takes tourists out for rides.
