Ideas for EMD GP30 Model Railroad Locomotives

The Model RR EMD GP30 Locomotive is modeled after the four-axle B-B locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Diesel Division from 1961 to 1963. The GP30 weighs 253,000lbs, had an output power of 2250hp, could reach a top speed of 78 MPH, and was powered by an Turbochargered EMD 567D3 V16 diesel engine. The most recognizable feature of the Model Railroad GP30 is its high profile and stepped cab roof. There is also a "high hood GP30" of "high nose GP30" version in which the hood is nearly the same hieght and the rest of the train. Union Pacific and Southern Railway each purchased over a 100 units.
