Baltimore & Ohio, one of the oldest railroads in the US and originally in Maryland, was in operation from 1830 to 1986. B&O was aquired by Pennsylvania Railroad in 1901, Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad took control in 1963, in 1973 it was incoporated into the Chessie System, became part of CSX in 1980, and went out of corporate existance in 1986.
