Canadian Pacific Railway, still in operation today, started in 1881 with the construction of a railway between eastern Canada and British Columbia. This line connected the Ottawa Valley and Georgian Bay area lines creating Canada's first transcontinental railway.
Candadian Pacific Railway had numerous divisions covering resort hotels, an airline, steamships, radio stations, telegraph, and many others to provide income and off-set costs.
Canadian Pacific Railway was known as CP Rail from 1968 to 1996.
